Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting with the organizing committee of the 10th International Sports Forum “Russia – country of sports”.

It will be held from 28 to 30 September, 2022 in the Kemerovo region.

It should be mentioned that the forum was established by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Igor Levitin, Minister of Sport Oleg Matytsin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sport Dmitry Svishchev, Governor of Kemerovo Region Sergei Tsivilev, Ambassador-at-Large, Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for International Sports Cooperation Mikhail Khorev, representatives of the Administration of the President of Russia, as well as federal executive bodies involved in the preparation of the event.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the program of the anniversary forum would attract the attention of not only the Russian but also the world sports community.

“Now we can observe that the preparation is going on smoothly. On the eve of the Forum, various sports competitions have already started in Kuzbass. More than 100 business, cultural and sporting events are planned to be held during the days of the Forum. Up to 5,000 participants are expected to attend, including guests from 11 friendly countries. Traditionally, in the videoconferencing mode, the grand opening of sports facilities is planned which were built as part of implementing the federal project Sport is the Norm of Life,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that a digital center will be solemnly opened at the Forum’s venue. It is a combination of a multi-sport venue and an esports club. Each of its visitors will have an individual rating, and the most proactive will be able to get the right to take part in the first ever international tournament Games of the Future, which will be held in Kazan in 2024.

The International Sports Forum “Russia – a Sports Power” is traditionally dedicated to the key issues of the current agenda of the sports industry. More than 40 events of the business program are planned for three days at six venues in Kemerovo, Sheregesh and Belov. An extensive sports program, involving more than 3.5 thousand athletes, awaits all participants and guests. The program will include a traditional race, master classes with the participation of prominent athletes, as well as the finals of the Donbass-Kuzbass cross-country motocross, which will cover more than 5 thousand kilometers. Important attention has been given to the issue of information support for the Forum: 14 media partners from among the federal and regional media are scheduled to participate,” added Oleg Matytsin.

Furthermore, as part of the Forum, there are plans to hold about 50 cultural events and an exhibition of Russian-made sports equipment and inventory.

It should be recalled that since 2009 the International Sports Forum “Russia – a Sports Power” has been held in Moscow, Kazan, Saransk, Yakutsk, Cheboksary, Dobrograd, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod. In 2023, the forum is planned to be held in Perm.
