Oleg Matytsin: “Under the current conditions of sanctions pressure, the question of import substitution is one of the key issues on the agenda of the forum “Russia – country of sports”

Sanctions against Russian industry have led to the need for import substitution of many types of products. Professional clubs and sports federations have already encountered difficulties in ordering and delivering inventory and sports equipment. At the Forum “Russia – country of sports” it is planned not only to exchange views on the topic of import substitution in the sports industry, but also to present specific ways of solving the current situation.

Under the current conditions of sanctions pressure, the question of import substitution is one of the key issues on the agenda of the forum “Russia – country of sports”.

The Ministry of Sports of Russia will support domestic manufacturers of equipment, inventory and sports nutrition.

“This forum is a large international platform where domestic companies will be able to present their products, talk about the advantages of Russian-made goods and establish interaction with executive authorities, sports federations, Russian national teams and just adherents of a healthy lifestyle,” – emphasized the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin .

At the moment, the specialized ministries of the Russian Federation are working out a system of measures to modernize the modern sports industry, which makes it possible to satisfy the demand for both consumer goods and high-tech samples. It is planned to be implemented within the next two years.

Within the framework of the International Exhibition “Modern Sport. Innovations and Prospects” (MSIP), it is planned to present a section of Russian manufacturers “Movement towards import substitution”. Russian manufacturers will occupy a significant part of the exposition. For the first time, a joint booth of companies will be presented at the exhibition, which will bring together the best samples of domestic products and technologies.

Also, the materials of the federal project “Business Sprint” will be presented at the forum site. Its goal is to provide the country’s residents with affordable and comfortable sports facilities and attract extra-budgetary investments in the sports industry to develop mass sports infrastructure. As part of the federal project, by 2024, 84 prefabricated modular halls will be built in the regions, Russian materials and components will be used for construction.

One of the exhibitors will be the Snowplast company, which is the exclusive manufacturer of artificial turf for skiing and alpine skiing (since 2006).

For us, participation in such a large-scale event as the forum “Russia – country of sports” is not only a reason for pride, but also a huge responsibility. This is a difficult period for our sport. It’s time to join forces, bring together all the accumulated experience, apply all the useful knowledge gathered in recent years so that the industry continues to develop.

Crisis is a time of opportunities. Russia is a country of opportunities. Crises do not scare us.

Now we see that import substitution is becoming one of the key aspects of the future of Russian sports. And we are ready to enthusiastically engage in the development and production of our unique products that will allow the industry to develop, said Sergey Ivanov, CEO of Snowplast.

The main goal of the forum is to develop practical solutions and recommendations to ensure a set of strategic tasks for the development of physical culture and sports for the period up to 2024, taking into account changes in the external and internal conditions for their implementation, and to develop priorities for the development of the sports industry in the face of sanctions.
